Barbering A2 Brief
For this project i have been asked to help create an instructional video for the salon professionals department at Sunderland college. The video is going to be used by the college the teach students from the level 2 and level 3 barbering course. The client is a lecturer teaching the course, they have asked that the video should showcase multiple barbering techniques that can support his students on the course. The video needs to be available online for quick and easy accessibility for his students, furthermore the video needs to showcase a professional standard of quality as it will be used for educational purposes and will be widely available online.
The client has asked that the video be filmed in silence for each shoot, there are 8 styles to be filmed in total and each group will film one style. the client has asked that copyright free music is added in the post-production process along with a voice over that the client will provide, when editing i need to make sure that the music isn't too loud and the voice over can be heard clearly. The video itself will be mainly shot at a medium close ups and close ups to give a clearer image making viewing easier, each shot must be a static shot therefore we will need a tripod to keep the camera steady whilst recording. The video will use simple cuts and transitions to keep the viewers attention on what the stylist is doing rather than the editing, because the video is for educational purposes the transitions i use should be appropriate and should only be used when needed, if transitions are used too often it can be distracting to the viewer.
The audience and demographic of this video will be the clients students, the students are 16-18 years old and will be on different levels of the course therefore the video needs to be informative for both levels. The video needs to show a level of professionalism for educational purposes however it also needs to appeal to the main age demographic of 16-18 year olds, to further understand to demographic i can research into how i can make the video more appealing towards them.
To gather further information i will have a meeting with the client to question some details about the project such as voiceovers, pacing of the video, shots and camera angles. The clients wants are the main priority of the project giving feedback to each other is important to ensure that the client gets what client has asked for
